Celtic and Country
July’s event saw the introduction of ‘Celtic Medley’ with their superb instrumental talent and the welcome return of Ear Buds … the group that can make Country sound sweet and harmonious like no other. The wailing sound of Dino’s harmonica makes you think the Rocky Mountaineer might be close by, while Shirley’s voice blends all those guys into a great choir-like sound.
And we mustn’t fail to mention Doug Medley and Murray Swain with their fiddle and guitar synced to perfection … a great night!
“Sailors” Return
Great to see and hear the Arm Chair Sailors – home from the sea – or wherever they’ve been hiding. Or were they just a.k.a. Quartete-a-Tete?. Vanessa returned – expert fiddle in hand, and singer-songwriter Brian Robertson with new songs – joining the core Lynn McGown and Michael Pratt. Great tour-de-force!
The intro feature was ‘Songtree’ – first time at FMATB – but with the familiar talents of Barbara Jackson and Earle Peach playing a variety of music from ‘almost jazz’ to bluegrass..
Fluteriffic – aptly named
Fluteriffic were superb musicians – a mini-orchestra at HSC on Friday 5th April …. watch for the videos
